Day 3 has ended at the partypoker.net WPT Montreal Main Event hosted at the Playground Poker Club, and there are just 18 players remaining from the overall field of 732 players. There were 49 players that returned on Monday, and after a brisk pace of play we reached the goal of the final three tables in the early evening.
The chip leader is Jonathan Jaffe with 2,500,000. Other top stacks were bagged up by Ratharam Sivagnanam (2,380,000), Marc-Andre Ladouceur (2,066,000), Guillaume Nolet (2,000,000), and Maduka Meragal (1,821,000).
There are a number of interesting story lines running during this late stage of the tournament. Local pros Ladouceur and Samuel Chartier (863,000) will get a lot of crowd support if they make the television final table on Wednesday. Talented young players Jaffe, Maurice Hawkins (614,000), and Kevin MacPhee (554,000) will be looking to win their first WPT titles.
Mukul Pahuja (1,750,000) made the final table at this tournament one year ago, when he took second place and kicked off his run to becoming the Season XII WPT Player of the Year. Will Pahuja make back-to-back WPT Montreal final tables? Youâll have to tune in for tomorrowâs coverage to find out.

We lost some big names today as well. The fallen included WPT Champions Club member Andy Frankenberger (47th place), Todd Terry (43rd place), WPT Champions Club member Harry Arutyunyan (42nd place), Yann Dion (41st place), Brian Yoon (30th place), Bill Kontaratos (29th place), WPT Champions Club member (25th place), and Danny Suied (21st place). We lost all three remaining WPT Champions Club members on Day 3, so that means there will be a brand new WPT champion here in Montreal.
The 18 survivors will return at 12:00 PM ET on Tuesday, November 24. Tune back in at that time for live coverage from the WPT Live Updates team here in the province of Quebec, Canada.
In the meantime, let WPT Royal Flush Girl Kat Kelley teach you how to take a #selfie:
